The River Choir was established in 1977 by its director Sonia Tubridy. It is a small chamber choir which performs a wide variety of music ranging from Medieval to contemporary classical, with an emphasis on madrigals. Sonia studied at the Academy of Music in Tel Aviv, Israel. She cofounded the Coffee Concert music series and also directs the Russian River Children's Chorus.
For the past 20 years we have been delighting audiences with live performances of music ranging from 15th century motets to contemporary Hebrew compositions. Past choir concerts have included Bach cantatas with chamber orchestras, madrigals in Renaissance costume, A Vivaldi's Gloria Sing-Along, and a county-wide performance of The Magnificent Maccabee.
