California Summer Music is a festival for talented young composers, pianists, violinists, violists, and cellists. Since 1996, CSM has offered a series of admission-free concerts and master classes. During the 3-1/2 week session in July, talented young musicians from around the globe are offered private lessons, solo performance, and chamber music in two courses of study: the Composition Program and the Performance Program (strings and piano). The faculty, led by cellist Irene Sharp, represents some of the most outstanding professional musicians and music educators in the U.S. and around the world. Alumni can be found touring the world as soloists and in the world's top orchestras and chamber ensembles. |
